Cece Loves Science Book Launch with Shelli Johannes!

Saturday, August 4th – 3 pm

We love local authors. We love science. And we REALLY love launch parties for local authors who write books about science! Shelli R. Johannes has written Cece Loves Science with Kimberly Derting and illustrated by Vashti Harrison, and we’re so thrilled to celebrate the book’s release with Shelli on Saturday, August 4! There will be a reading and signing as well as super fun lab activities and refreshments (far from the lab space, of course)! This event is sure to be fun for the whole family. Be sure to join us!
This event is free and open to the public. Please be sure to purchase a copy of Cece Loves Science from us in order to earn a place in the signing line!

More about Cece Loves Science:

Cece’s parents say she was born curious. She asks: Why? How? What if? When her teacher, Ms. Curie, assigns a science project, Cece knows just what to ask—do dogs eat vegetables? She teams up with her best friend, Isaac, and her dog, Einstein, to discover the answer. They investigate, research, collect data, and analyze, using Einstein as their case study. Their final conclusion is surprising, and a lot of fun!

You can order the book here.

A celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 2018 U.S. publication of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone

This will feature a star-studded group of popular middle grade and YA authors talking about how the Sorcerer’s Stone changed the literary landscape for both readers and writers. To add to the magic, there will be Harry Potter trivia, a costume contest, and other mischief. At this year’s Kidnote, we solemnly swear that we are up to no good!
