Books, Bugs, and Tasty Treats!
June 2 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
*REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Details below.*
Join Rebecca Petruck and Chelsea Thomas in a conversation about people eating bugs, a choice that is smart for our bodies and the planet–and tastes great, too! Petruck is the author of the new middle grade novel, Boy Bites Bug, which received a starred review from Booklist, calling it “…funny, perceptive, and topical in more ways than one.” Chelsea Thomas runs the amphibian conservation program at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and is an avid advocate for entomophagy, eating bugs as food. (Chelsea presented at Little Shop for an Atlanta Science Festival event in March. It was great!) In addition to sharing stories about their bug eating adventures, visitors will see several live bugs, including the Asian Forest Scorpion, and will get to try buggy treats like crickets and waxworms. Join us for a f-ANT-astic afternoon of books, bugs, and tasty treats!
